The standard Venturi nozzle is a differential pressure measuring instrument whose geometric dimensions, surface quality, and installation conditions meet the requirements.

Venturi nozzles enable the measurement of flow rates in pipelines by reference to changes in fluid pressure when passing through a constricted area. With Venturi flow meters, you will see notably better pressure recovery.

Venturi nozzle flow measurement devices are accurate, reliable, and low-maintenance. They are suitable for measuring most fluids, including gas, steam, and liquids – even if they are dirty or viscous. The key advantages of a Venturi nozzleover most other differential pressure flow meters are low cost, the greater pressure recovery, and the smaller upstream and downstream pipe requirements.

The differential producing flowmeter or Venturi has a long history of uses in many applications. Due to its simplicity and dependability, the Venturi is among the most common flowmeters. With no moving parts or abrupt flow restrictions, the Venturi can measure fluid flowrates with a minimal total pressure loss. The principle behind the operation of the Venturi flowmeter is the Bernoulli effect. The Venturi measures a fluid's flowrate by reducing the cross sectional flow area in the flow path and generating a pressure difference.
