Lube and seal oil systems, and steam and process gas piping require a thorough cleaning before a new machinery train can be commissioned. Cleaning seal and lube oil systems is also often required during a machinery turnaround.

ATU UNIT

Automatic top-up units

Automatic Top Up Unit (ATU) is used to compensate for oil volume and pressure loss in API systems.

(ATUs) enable the automatic refilling or ‘topping up’ of barrier fluid in API 682 type seal support systems. A constant barrier fluid supply is maintained at the correct pressure, minimizingmaintenance and manual intervention. They meet or exceed stringent customer specifications and restrictive customer vendor lists for all instrumentation, valves and controls.

An alternative to a manually mobile refilling unit, an automatic make-up unit adds buffer or barrier fluid to multiple systems as required.

ATU is recommended for use when calculations show that frequent manual oil top ups would be needed.
